The company set out to give South India’s builders rebar they never had to second-guess, and built a plant at Somanahalli, Mandya, around that one idea. A decade on, the mill rolls close to 2.5 lakh tonnes a year, and contractors across the region ask for RD TMT by name.

From raw iron to rebar, in six steps.
Every bar gets a hard outer layer for strength and a softer core for flexibility. Here is how that happens, step by step.
Charging the Furnace
Direct-reduced iron (sponge iron) and selected scrap go into the induction furnace, so every melt starts from a known chemistry.
Melting & Analysis
A sample from each heat goes to the spectrometer. Nothing casts until its carbon, sulphur and phosphorus read within the grade.
Continuous Casting
Liquid steel is cast into square billets, cut to length and stamped with the heat number that follows it all the way to site.
Reheating & Rolling
Billets are reheated and rolled down through the stands to the finished diameter, ribs and all.
TEMPCORE Quenching
A water ring quenches the surface into hard martensite while the core stays hot and ductile.
Self-Tempering & Testing
Core heat tempers the rim on the cooling bed. Then a coupon from the bar is pulled to failure in our lab.

What TMT grades do you manufacture?
Fe 500, Fe 500D, Fe 550 and Fe 550D, in 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25 and 32 mm, all to IS 1786:2008. The D grades carry tighter chemistry limits and higher minimum elongation for ductile detailing.
What is your minimum order quantity?
There is no single figure: it depends on the grade, the diameter mix and where the site is. Tell us what you need and the sales desk will quote it.
Which regions do you deliver to?
Karnataka and the rest of South India through our dealer and project network, with pan-India dispatch arranged for large projects.
Do you supply test certificates with every dispatch?
Yes. Every lorry leaves with the chemical and mechanical values for that batch, traceable to its heat number. If you want to verify the registrations first, ask for current copies with your quotation.
What certifications back your products?
ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, the CII GreenPro ecolabel across the whole rebar range, and IS 1786:2008 conformance verified on every heat. All registrations are active.
What lengths do you supply?
Rebar in standard 12 m lengths, with custom cuts to order. MS billets in 6 m and 12 m.
What is the difference between TMT bars and MS billets?
Billets are the semi-finished square sections cast from the furnace. TMT bars are the finished rebar rolled and TEMPCORE-quenched from those billets. We sell both: billets to re-rollers, rebar to sites.
Is RD TMT steel suitable for green-rated buildings?
Yes. The full 8-32 mm range carries the CII GreenPro ecolabel, which is the documentation IGBC and other green-rated projects ask a rebar supplier for.
