Billets
RD TMT is well-known for obtaining high-quality sponge iron for Billet manufacturing. The sponge iron is heated specifically in a system-regulated furnace to maintain its appropriate composition. Our in-house labs assess the physical and mechanical properties of the metal to establish the precise chemical composition required for billet production. Before being transferred to the rolling mill and processed into our high-quality TMT bars, the billets are re-tested for chemical composition.
There are two types of Billets being procured by RD TMT STEELS
- MS Billets
- Low Alloys Steel Billets
The Billets procured in RD TMT go through numerous quality checks at every stage which helps the product being free from any surface cracks.
Due to testing such as sulphur print test and magnetic particle test the Billets procured in the plant are free from any defects such as pinholes and blowholes.
